Jung-Jae Kim - saxophone
Andreas Voccia - electronics

NAITE is a Berlin-based duo consisting of Andreas Voccia, a German modular synth player, and Jung-Jae Kim, a South Korean saxophonist. Their music can be described as an interactive improvisation between two distinct mediums – electronic and acoustic – that communicates between two different physical phenomena, electrons and air molecules.

During live performances, the duo presents a pre-composed video score that features abstract motion images and lighting effects. The result is a multi-layered, fluctuating soundscape that is highly complex and dynamic. The interaction between the electronic and acoustic elements creates a tapestry of varied noises, particles, and colors that overlap and weave together in a mesmerizing display.

By abstracting the motion and lighting effects, the duo is able to bring a sense of movement and change to the performance. The complexity and layering of the sound and visual elements create a truly immersive experience for the audience, akin to watching a particle system in action. Overall, NAITE's innovative approach to combining sound and visual art makes for a captivating and intellectually stimulating performance.
